This Art Deco mansion was designed by Alexander Meuleman in 1939, as a residency for the family Verbiest, who ran a bicycle factory on the same grounds. It features copious amounts of marbrite, marvellous stained glass, and is a perfect example of the paquebot or Streamline Moderne style.

A pure and functionalist example of Henry van de Velde's architecture, where less truly is more, and with a very intelligent use of small spaces.
