This phenomenal Art Deco building, designed by Henry Lacoste, was erected as part of the Brugmann hospital next door, who were in need of laboratories and a research centre. It features copious amounts of marbrite (coloured, marbled glass), big colourful tiles, gorgeous ornamental details, graphic stained glass, and is really a work of art in itself.

A pure and functionalist example of Henry van de Velde's architecture, where less truly is more, and with a very intelligent use of small spaces.
